Mahenga goes hitech
Aug 14th, 2008 | By admin | Category: iPhoneMahenga is an old man(more than 200 years is old off course) but he still believes in new technology. He recently equiped himself with an iPhone and hence is now an iPhone expert.
Anybody with an iPhone can tell you that it doesn’t take a lot of to find out how iPhone tends to curtail your liberty. And for Mahenga freedom is one of the most important things in life. Even to activate your own iPhone you need to download and install iTunes software. If that was not enough you can’t sync with another computer. If you do that you risk loosing all your media.
So the mission was to get a work around this. Mahenga does respect law and understands that these limitations are measures against piracy. But he also believes that to uphold the law, liberty of law abiding citizens shouldn’t be taken away.
Let’s get back to the issue of limitations posed by iTunes(aka Apple). If you have synced your iPhone to say PC ‘A’ and then you try to sync it with PC ‘B’, all your multimedia that came from PC ‘A’ will be deleted and your phone will be in Sync with whatever is on PC ‘B’. Mahenga was so upset when he found out that to sync with PC ‘B’ he has to lose his already existing media. Cursing iTunes wouldn’t help, findiong an alternative will. So our old windows application winamp came to help. First you install the latest available install of winamp and the latest ipod plugin for winamp. On running winamp, iPhone will appear in your device list. Clicking iPhone will show all your songs and videos. You can now right click and save whatever you want to your hard disk.
